The opportunity

The Manager, Talent Systems at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our Talent technology portfolio, with a primary focus on relationship management with program owners within the Talent Centre of Expertise (CoE). Reporting directly to the Director, People Operations,  this role will drive the strategic alignment of Talent technology solutions, including key platforms such as Workday (Talent, Recruitment, Succession, Learning), Degreed, Beamery, SuccessFinder and HireVue.   

Who you'll work with

The Manager, Talent Systems will partner with Program owners to make decisions on requirements and enhancements to make in Talent Technology portfolio.

What you'll do

1. Relationship Management

  • Collaborate closely with program owners in the Talent CoE to understand their technology needs and challenges

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their requirements and expectations are met

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the HRIS team and program owners

2. Talent Technology Strategy and Roadmap

  • In partnership with Talent leadership, develop and implement a strategic roadmap for existing Talent technology

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions that drive Talent process improvements with a key focus on integrating AI and D&A to elevate technology offerings

3. System Optimization

  • Partner with the HRIS team to deliver requirements to enhance talent technology systems

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security within Talent systems

4. Project Management

  • Lead and participate in Talent Technology projects, from requirements gathering and vendor selection to implementation and post-implementation upgrades and related support

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget

5. Vendor Management

  • Partner with Talent CoE to manage relationships with Talent Technology vendors, negotiating contracts and supporting system upgrades

6. User Support and Training

  • Provide user support and initial training to program owners and Talent teams to maximize the utilization of Talent Technology solutions

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

  • 5+ years of experience in Talent Technology, with a strong focus on key technologies like Workday, Degreed, Beamery, SuccessFinder and HireVue

  • Proven experience in project management and vendor management

  • Talent Technology certifications (e.g., Workday, Degreed) are a plus

  • Comprehensive understanding of talent programs and processes, including Talent Acquisition, Learning, Leadership Development, DEI and Talent

  • Strong service orientation focused on delivery pragmatic value to stakeholders efficiently

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
