We are seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, Technology to join our Talent Acquisition team at OTPP! You will play a key role in sourcing, attracting, and hiring top tech talent to support Ontario Teachers’ growth and objectives. As a recruitment advisor, you will work closely with hiring managers to understand their resourcing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies to meet those needs, while advancing our brand in the IT talent market.
Who you'll work with
You'll join our collaborative team of Talent Acquisition professionals where learning and teamwork are highly valued. You will receive mentorship from and report to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition. Your primary responsibility will involve sourcing, attracting, and hiring experienced technology professionals across the organization. This role offers the exciting opportunity to collaborate with hiring managers from various divisions. We offer a hybrid work environment with 3 days in our office, with a move to our new office at 160 Front St. W in June 2024.
What you'll do
Develop a keen understanding of Ontario Teachers’ and your client groups to understand the unique needs for each position and to attract high-caliber candidates.
Partner with our P&C Business Partners and key internal leaders to understand the workforce plan and develop a proactive recruitment strategy to identify and nurture a talent pool utilizing Beamery and other channels
Generate qualified candidates through creative recruitment strategies such as employee referrals campaigns, social media, job boards, direct sourcing, diversity-focused partnerships, and industry/campus events.
Build relationships with external organizations, community groups, and diversity-focused networks to expand our talent pools and promote our employer brand as an inclusive and equitable workplace.
Provide guidance and expertise to hiring managers on recruitment best practices, including market insights, DEI principles, candidate sourcing strategies, and interview techniques.
Advise and oversee adherence to OTPP’s established recruitment processes and policies.
Partner with the hiring manager to create inclusive job postings and advise on job posting strategies for attracting qualified candidates.
Proactively identify potential challenges in filling open positions and propose solutions to address them.
Partner with the hiring managers to define the key selection criteria and establish evaluation methods for assessing candidate suitability, leveraging tools such as Hirevue, Codevue, Successfinder, case studies, etc.
Review resumes and screen candidates to assess skills, qualifications, and alignment to the role
Coordinate and schedule interviews with interviewers and candidates.
Maintain regular communication with hiring managers to provide updates on recruitment progress, candidate pipelines, and timelines, ensuring we are providing a positive and inclusive candidate and hiring manager experience
Provide mentorship to hiring managers as it relates to compensation and level to ensure internal equity is maintained.
Stay updated on industry trends for Technology and best practices in recruitment
Provide informal mentorship to members of the Talent team and contribute to the continuous advancement of our Talent Acquisition function
Participate or lead special projects as required and based on your interests
What you'll need
Proven results as an experienced IT recruiter, preferably in a fast-paced corporate and/or agency environment with demonstrated ability to proactively source tech talent.
Strong advisory mindset with the ability to think strategically, problem solve, and provide valuable insights and recommendations
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement to make well-informed decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with hiring managers.
Proactive and results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
Capable of confidently engaging with and advising senior leaders
Strong service orientation with a desire to exceed expectations and providing a positive and inclusive candidate experience
Proficiency in using various recruitment software and applicant tracking systems with a preference for Workday and Beamery
